Geneva to Annecy commute

My wife and I are looking into the possibility of moving to the Annecy area. We have just returned from a second week of exploring Annecy and the surrounding area so have a pretty good feel for the place but have a number of questions that we need help with.

Our original plan was to (hopefully) find work in Geneva and live in Annecy but the train service between the two seems almost non existent the coach service too slow and was wondering how feasible it was to drive instead.

Very grateful for any tips/advice/suggestions on this and any of the various other issues we probably haven't even considered ! Thanks

I know a lot of people who live in Annecy and drive to Geneva everyday for work. I know it's less than 45 minutes to the airport in Geneva at least. But yeah, commuting to Geneva by car is entirely possible.

Thanks very much for the information, one more thing crossed off our list.

Hi

You would have to count 45 min at midday, but if you live in Annecy and go to work at Geneva say at 09h00 then you would have to count roughly 1h00 to 1h30 and if it is snowing then you can multiply that by 2.
The motorway is expensive, around 10 euros there and back, you cant get a badge that allows you to have a 25% discount between the 10th and the 30th passage in a month. You can also negociate with certain employers to pay for your expenses.

Could luck with your research.
