I can't remember, I've had so many bad ones that I've blocked them all out in order to keep my sanity. :p

I had a lot lot lot of bad experiences when I first got here and couldn't speak or understand French. It's true that people here aren't patient with you when you make a mistake and don't understand, and for awhile I was petrefied to go anywhere without somebody with me who spoke French.

I got over it eventually, as you must. :)

Listening to these stories makes me glad I am taking the time to learn the language now! I know I won't be able to avoid the bad days, but at least I'll understand the cuss words when someone is impatient!

I also am glad I am trying to work that kind of thing out, although it would be nice if others were more patient with people learning the language. I figure they can cuss at me all they want if I have trouble with the language, if I'm having that much trouble I may not understand the insults either lol.

I haven't heard any real traumas though, other than culture shock with the people and the language.
