Justificatif de Domicile (HELP)

Hi,

We have arrived in Annecy and trying to get established and going around in circles. Cant get a car registered , cant get an internet connection etc without Justificatif de Domicile. We think we may be able to get a bank account. Does any know if a bank statement is sufficient for a Justificatif de Domicile? If not does anyone have any other ideas ?

We are also being asked to have some of our Australian documents translated. can any one recommend an official translator.

regards,

Alex

Welcome to Annecy Alex :-)

If you are are renting month to month seasonal premises you should be able to get a Justificatif de Domicile form the landlord /owner

In theory you should also be able to get one even from a hotel manager.

When we arrived 2 years ago I had to get mine from a family friend who kindly let me stay at her place for a few weeks.

When I had to setup internet I needed EDF bill whcih you won't have if you have not signed a lease, so maybe Orange WifI and mobiel broadband will have to fill the gap while you ge things sorted, how long are planning to stay?

Any official documents you plan to use in France will need to be translated. We emailed ours to Rosalie Lemaitre and she emails translations back and mails originals

Thanks David,

Thats great help. We will contact the translator. We are still very much settling and have been introduced to the french medical system very quickly. Our daughter broke her arm in week one. All ended well. Just a small break.

Thanks Again
