LyricB 24th August 2006, 16:50 Yeah, I couldn't access the photo either. I'm looking forward to what everyone comes up with.

LyricB 26th August 2006, 05:34 Thanks for fixing it. That picture is awesome! You could get really philisophical about it, or instead comical. Guess it depends on how you're feeling at the time....
samdebretagne 26th August 2006, 11:20 Thanks David!
Slashmire 30th August 2006, 01:40 So was that digitally altered through the wonders of photoshop? If it was, it's really well blended...if it's not...it's a very sad state of road :)
samdebretagne 30th August 2006, 23:34 So was that digitally altered through the wonders of photoshop?
Hey, I'm offended by that! :p
Seriously though, it's a road in Brittany can only be used during low tide. It's really funny because every year they have a marathon starting from one side to the other, and there's always a bunch of people that don't make it before the tide comes in, so they need to be rescued by boat!!
ninikins 3rd September 2006, 21:06 Thats a great pic I can't wait to see more :)

Great idea loufoque, there's not much action happening in regards to the competition so I have amended the Forum description to also include your favourite scenic photograph, The winner will still need to provide a high resolution version to prove they took the photo.
loufoque 15th September 2006, 09:08 Good Oh I shall dig out osme snap shots of france then and see if my brain can work its way around posting them!

ameri-cannes 5th October 2006, 15:26 WOW! Great pic! Is this the contest winner? I'd love to see the other entries, if possible. Where do I look?
ameri-cannes 5th October 2006, 15:30 ooopsie! Next time I'll look for "page 2" BEFORE I make myself look like an idiot. I am basically computer illiterate. Please bear with me while I try to get back "in the groove".
loufoque 6th October 2006, 18:33 not as dumb as me as I can not for the life of me work out how to post a photo and if I do can I post more than one like mpprh has please Sir!!! :)
Johnny Maher 6th October 2006, 19:47 Just to see if I'm doing it right.
loufoque 6th October 2006, 19:51 Oh Johny That's beautiful ! Where is it?:)
Now I have to try and get teh hang on this thing!! Fingers crossed!!
loufoque 6th October 2006, 20:31 ok deep breath lets see if I can do this right this time if not Johnny I shall be emailing you for instructions so better get ready to make them simple!! This should be a view of our lane early one morning last winter.... if I load a photo of the annual village wierdest shaped vegetable competiion entries I hope you will all forgive me!!
Johnny Maher 18th October 2006, 23:10 loufoque, it's a place called Huelgoat in the centre of Central Brittany where, if you believe all they tell you, Arthur and his Knights, along with Merlin, were bivouacked at one stage (well, the locals say this is where they were from, but you've got to let the Welsh have SOMETHING).
David, you've allowed photos to now be viewed inline, but it just demonstrates the problem that some of us were having; how did the others manage to post their photos as part of the posting, while others couldn't? I know you've solved it, but how was it done?
david-giorgi 19th October 2006, 01:31 ...

If somebody links directly to an image from their own website or 3rd party blogger or photo gallery by using the Insert Image button and using a full URL there is no problems. (my recent changes to not affect this method)
Before, if somebody used the attachments button (paperclip) only a link appeared, and I also had a low maximum limit to the size of the attachment. I think that was the problem Samantha encountered.
samdebretagne 19th October 2006, 10:09 So if I want to post another photo directly from my computer, I'll be able to now?
david-giorgi 19th October 2006, 10:39 So if I want to post another photo directly from my computer, I'll be able to now?
Yep, but keep maximum width to 700pixels so that it does not distort forum template :]
samdebretagne 19th October 2006, 11:17 Okay, I give up, I can't figure out how to make the pictures small enough so that it will let me upload them. Grrrr!!!!
david-giorgi 19th October 2006, 13:55 Okay, I give up, I can't figure out how to make the pictures small enough so that it will let me upload them. Grrrr!!!!
I have updated the maximum file size to 2meg please try again. It will auto resize to 700 in width if photo is wider than 700 pixels.
samdebretagne 19th October 2006, 14:05 Ok, thanks a lot David-Giorgi, I'll give it one more try:
samdebretagne 19th October 2006, 14:07 Wow, sorry, that's kinda big. :o
But here's the background story on the pic - we kept seeing people across the street stopping and laughing and then taking pictures with their camera phones and we couldn't figure out why. Finally, we went out to take a look, and saw the pile of poo with a TF1 flag sticking out of it. Guess there's no need to wonder what that person's opinion of Tf1 is!!!
Toc 19th October 2006, 18:35 We need some fresh air...
A shot just 2 mn before SamdeBretagne photo.
mpprh 20th October 2006, 18:00 Just worth saying ............
A simple (and free !) photo editor is here : http://www.irfanview.com (http://www.irfanview.com/)
It allows you to crop, lighten / darken, reduce resolution etc.

vanja.in.lyon 4th September 2008, 21:09 Hi there everyone - I'm new to this site and whilst browsing the forum noticed the photo competition - although I'm not sure if it's still running... anyway, here's a pic from a summer dip into the Atlantic at Lacanau-Ocean.... reminds me of surfing in Sydney! Vanja
vanja.in.lyon 4th September 2008, 21:15 Here is a pretty explicit street sign - found in my adopted city of Lyon. Of course the car parked right on the gutter could pose a problem, n'est pas? Vanja
vanja.in.lyon 4th September 2008, 21:20 I just love the wheelbarrows in the little citroen....very funny and sooo French! It's amazing what they squeeze into their cars. Vanja
vanja.in.lyon 4th September 2008, 21:26 Lyon has 2 rivers, the Saone and the Rhone. So there are many bridges of all shapes and sizes and styles. Here is one taken at night over the Rhone river in downtown Lyon. Vanja
