Hi all, just moved to Annecy in December. This is funny, but my French boyfriend and I noticed just how hard it is to find GOOD croissants and baguettes around Annecy vielle ville! And yes, I am talking about that boulangerie with supersize breads and the one beside the tea shop near Place Ste. Claire.
Could anyone recommend a good boulangerie around Place Ste. Claire?
Merci!

Choice of baguettes is a very personal one, but one of my favorites is Epi d'Or near the canal in Rue de Republic, I think it is.
Maybe not so great for croissants, I don't eat them very often so I couldn't tell you!
Cheers,

Reluctant as I am to correct David, he is of course WRONG! Peché Mignon is a patisserie and sells what I think are the best croissants, pain au chocolat and chaussons aux pommes in town. They do not however sell bread, as they are not a boulangerie. You would think David would know that as he goes there quite a few times a week :D
For a good baguette, I am with Craig, try l'Epi d'Or - they will usually offer you a choice of bien cuite or pas trop. Another very good boulangerie is Boulangerie Rouge in rue du Lac.
