First, thanks to all who have thoughtfully tried to help my situation (I am french-born, but I was born of American Parents, and unfortunately have a Us Passaport).

The great News is: This week I have finally found my Official French birth document in France and I have an Official notarized copy of it here with me form the Mayor of my French birth Town! Yahoo!

But, can anyone please explain to me what would be my next step in my attempt to gain, at least, a temporary french work-permit/stay Visa? I know someone in France who will employ me but they cannot without a work-permit.

Someone once told me to write to the Mayor of my birth village (with a copy of my french birth-cert & passport) and ask what my next step would be. But is this really this simple?
